AMORPHOS

VIRTUAL COLLECTIONS

These artworks are part of a digital project and exist only as a virtual conception. To allow the artist to adapt her work more specifically to the wishes of the collector or the technical requirements of an architectural concept, these paintings are presented exclusively as digital imagos. They can be virtually inserted by the artist into photographs of the client’s rooms or architectural blueprints, to allow a customized adaption. The proposed dimensions of the artwork can be adjusted to the buyer’s preferences. The price will be adapted to the size of the work. Once the adjustments finished, the artist will be commissioned to realize the painting

DELIVERY TIME: 6-8 weeks.

TECHNIQUE AND STYLE: The Vicos-paintings are realized on a plywood support, overlaid with elaborate collage work. The actual painting is executed on this subfont, which makes for a «brut», uneven surface. The interaction of bold geometric drawing and tactile materiality is a key element of the collection.

AMORPHOUS METAMORPHOSE

The Amorphos collection gets its name from the Greek-stemming adjective amorphous, meaning  «formless» or «shapeless». It is a creative play with a limited number of given elements that, like in a kaleidoscope without the symmetry, appear in ever new variations. 

Repetition, recycling and restructuring are fundamental features in my work – I never stop stealing from myself. As every experienced artist knows only to well, the perfect form is an illusion that keeps us working, but will never be attained. So the next best is to give the elements their freedom to sprawl in all directions, to attentively observe and record their meanderings and to jump in like a well-trained predator when new combinations and new perceptions seem to emerge at the horizon.   

In this, the Amorphos paintings are not only the expression of my individual mythology, but also, in a wider sense, a metaphor of the artistic work as such.
